Gambeson with Open Armpits.
This Gambeson replicates a late 14th C / early 15th C. garment but is representative of gambesons worn over a wide time span.
 
Armpit openings edged with leather. Outside is 100% Cotton canvas.  Inside lining is100% Cotton. Stuffed with layers of woollen blankets. Stuffing: Minimum wool content 85%.  Wrist opening stitched with leather.
 
Semi-open armpits provide mobility and ventilation without over-compromising protection.
 
Crafted in heavy-duty padded canvas, it has excellent blow-absorbing properties.
